Not Reaching Your Fitness and Weight Loss Goals? Here is What s Holding You Back - Part 1

Getting a good body is not rocket science. It doesn’t require volumes of knowledge and it doesn’t have to be complicated. Yet every day, millions of people around the world are frustrated that they don’t have the kind of physique they want. Why does this happen? It’s because of 5 simple mistakes that they’re making. Luckily, these mistakes are easy to identify and even easier to solve.

1) Not setting goals for yourself - In order to get somewhere, you have to know where you are headed first. Can you specify EXACTLY what you aim to achieve? Most people gloss over this by saying “I want to get in shape”, or “I want to lose body fat” — well….what does being in shape mean? How much fat do you want to lose? If you are vague about what you want, you won’t be focused in your efforts to get there. Solution: Make sure to put exact parameters on all your goals if you really want to realize them. Instead of saying “I want to lose fat”, say “I want to lose 10lbs of body fat by Christmas”.

2) Not monitoring your actions - Knowing where you’re going is one thing, but how do you know you’ll reach your destination if you’re not cognizant of the route you use to get there? Are you keeping track of every aspect of your workout, right down to the length of time you spend resting between sets? Are you writing down every single item of food you eat over the course of the day? If you just ‘wing’ it and don’t make sure you’re sticking to the plan, you’re unlikely to see the goals you’re aiming for. Solution: The answer to this problem is easy. Simply keep track of everything you are doing. Carry around a little notebook with you and write down all the exercise you do and all the food you eat. Just note down everything — truthfully (no cheating)! You’ll be amazed at how much your performance increases when you have evidence of exactly how well you are keeping to your plan.
