Does Water Make You Lose Weight?

I think everyone knows how important it is to make certain that you are drinking enough water. Some sources say that you should drink as much as four pints of water each and every day. But will drinking that much water make you lose weight?

There is a weight loss advantage to drinking large amounts of water…it keeps you from drinking beverages that make you gain weight, like sodas or high fat coffee drinks.

But the idea that water will make you lose weight by itself just isn’t true. The only way that that you are going to safely and effectively lose that fat is by correct eating. I don’t mean by starving yourself or giving up all your favorite foods. No, what I’m talking about is the idea that eating certain types of calories together can actually make you lose as much as 14 pounds in as little as two weeks.

This notion of food combining is certainly not a new one but it hasn’t had much attention in this world of fad diets and dangerous weight loss drugs. I certainly understand people wanting easy weight loss and this method does offer that, but too many people have been disappointed by the latest diet book to hit the shelves. And you probably remember the diet drug scare from a years ago.

There’s no reason to put yourself through all that mess when it is a very simple matter to eat all the food you like in the proper combination. For instance, did you know that protein requires a different enzyme to be digested than does starches. What this means is that if you eat these two things together only one of them is going to digest fully.

If you are looking for an easy method of losing weight, and I’m talking about as much as 20 pounds in a month, stop asking the question- Does water make you lose weight? The answer is no.
